Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM at 918 Benjamin NE, Grand Rapids. Meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer following by a moment of silence for former President Gerald R. Ford, who passed away.

The Executive board accepted the October minutes in November due to no General Membership meeting, due to a lack of quorum.

Officer’s Report:

Treasurer, Chandler Approved as read for December MSC

Executive Vice President: Marcus: Met with the Postmaster to resolve issues at Kentwood. Several people retired. Have two new stewards Schellinger and Maddox. Scott Larabel had surgery. PTF preferancing, effective Friday. A posting for PTF’s to bid. Holiday staffing issues. Need steward for Tour three main post office. Extension for dead line of ballots will be Jan 12th due to National Day of Mourning for President Ford. National Organizing conference in Minneapolis MN coming up. COPA, almost doubled amount of members giving payroll deductions. COPA goal is $8 per member per year.

Clerk Craft; Scutt: Thanked all those members for being here tonight. Arbitrations going on, Staffing for holidays, still working out the language on the expeditor grievance. VOE survey. Jerry Poll retired at Alto had tears in his eyes with what the union gave him. Tour one annex supervisors are performing clerk craft works.

Maintenance Craft Director, Lang: Thanked Myska, and Smith for the work they are doing. A second CIOS. Getting the Gantry Robot downtown. P-3 not sure about getting the building. Housing in Norman OK was $7 a day now $50. Jim Rurek is back to work. Moving conveyor belt in 010, flat sorter being moved

MVS Craft Director; Mike Hill for Scott Larabel: Up date on Scott. Doing better after having emergency surgery.

AO Director; Janes: Thanked Rose for showing up, also Don Bassett, AO steward is here too. Working on maximizing grievances.

President, Amos; Swearing in of Scutt, Janes, and Pike. Thanked Amy for performing my job as President while I was off for my surgery.

Committee Reports:

Veterans, Kramer; Presented a purple heart to a carrier from Wyoming, who should have gotten it 34 years ago

POWER, Hodges: The November POWER POW WOW was held at the hall in November. Sue Levy, the Democratic Chairperson for W. Michigan went over the Proposals on the ballot. Deb Groulx, our new Auxiliary person explained how the APWU auxiliary works. Our “Wish upon a Star Tree” was successful. We had 2 families one with a mom and 5 kids and the other a mom and 3 kids, pregnant for twins.

A & E, Marcus, Reminder of the Solidarity for Charity Golf outing June 2, $70 Rogue River. February 18 is the Casino Bus Trip to the Soaring Eagle. The Picnic will be July 22nd, had to move the date because of the Educational Conference. The December Christmas party was cancelled due to lack of interest.

Retiree, Hendricks; has 135 members – tightening up our budget. Need access to the copy machine. Dues haven’t been paid to National. Had the opportunity to pin some medals on Veterans. Thanked the Vets for being at the Ford procession.

Point of Personal Privilege: Scutt ABC Warehouse , Dale McPearson, manager, at the Jenison store only will give Postal employees the employee pricing on merchandise bought.

Hendricks: Send retiree letters, quarterly getting a lot of mail.

New Business:

Board Recommendations:

To purchase a new PC for the treasurer for the union’s financial records, not to exceed $1500. Discussion Carried

To send any officers and stewards who want to go to the district meeting in Kalamazoo March 2 and 3 for up to Two nights lodging, per diem, registration, up to two days of lost time, mileage and applicable taxes. Discussion Carried

To send Karen Hodges to the Western and Central Region POWER Conference in Las Vegas, March 1 thru 4th with airfare, lodging, per diem, ground transportation, lost time, registration and applicable taxes. Discussion Carried

To donate $100 for T-shirt Sponsorship, Unity Labor Charity Bowl... Discussion Carried To donate $300 for the Hospitality Room at the March District Meeting in Kalamazoo. Discussion Carried.

To extend the 2007 Membership Organizing drive of a $50 new member sign up award. Discussion Carried
