LABOR - MANAGEMENT MEETING

Old Business

The union would like to discuss the “dress code” policy. It appears that not all supervisors and tours are on the same page. (i.e. what is appropriate, and or what part of the policy is going to be enforced.) Fred will provide a copy of the “updated” dress code policy to Jennifer for discussion.

An update on the fans for the workroom floor. Fred stated that Dale Hinkley is working with Steve Skorupski to identify non-working fans and where new ones can be mounted.

The union would again like to address the lack of relief positions on T-2 for General clerk, review clerk, and dispatcher. Phil stated he would like to follow up with Ray for more specific details in needed areas.

New Business

Parking at the P-1 is getting more and more crowded. The union would like to establish a parking committee. Mike Crisman and Fred are both not in agreement. Fred stated that the property is not the USPS. The union will pursue through local negotiations.

There seems to be safety issues at the P-2 with the electrical boxes and the Hazmat material in the same room with the MVS drivers. Missi stated that there is no safety issue. The drivers only begin tour there and they should be utilizing the break room.

Stewards release time. Missi stated that MVS will be getting 2 casuals and have been approved to hire 2 career employees. She stated that she would approve extensions for the MVS steward.

All the clerks on T-2 are being requested to be trained on all jobs even though their bid jobs do not list the jobs they are being trained for. The APWU has not established a “universal clerk”. Refer to Old Business #3

Many issues with the window section. Pool clerks are suppose to assume the employees schedule that they are replacing, this is not being done. Theresa Pitsch is continually misusing the pool clerks. Ron stated that the schedule should be posted the Wednesday prior too the scheduled week. Ron will follow up with Ray.

Theresa Pitsch as well as other supervisors is changing clock rings. This is fraud and must cease. Jennifer gave examples of issues in customer service and Amy gave an example of issues at the AMF. Fred stated this should not be happening and asked Phil Roth to speak with CJ Allred. Ron stated he will speak with Theresa and follow up with Ray.

Seymour Square. Employees on annual leave are not being replaced by mgmt therefore leaving only 1 clerk. This area is high with crime and there are no security devices in this office. Ron stated there should not be 1 clerk. He will follow up and address the situation.

The window section is lacking supplies to accommodate the customers. Employees have to send customers away. Is this the position the USPS is taking? Whatever happened to customer service??? Ron stated that he was unaware of any problems; he will further discuss the issue with Ray. Ron further stated that they have been over stocked and are only allowed to keep a 6 week average supply.

Added Agenda

Surface Visibility. Jennifer discussed issues that she foreseen. Mgmt stated there will be more training. Expeditors and Dispatchers will scan along with the mail handlers.

Personnel used to send all attachments with max extension, now the person in charge sends it winmail.dat. Jennifer is having a problem viewing the postings because of the in house mail. Jennifer is requesting that personnel go back to the max files.

Numerous Personnel issues. Jennifer and Amy addressed the fact that personnel is posting job notices outside of the bid cycle and this needs to stop. Fred agreed.

The union would like an update on the AMF. Fred said they do not have a final closing date. Fred further said he would set up a meeting to discuss options about some jobs.

P-2. What is the status? Fred stated that they are looking into a 2 yr. lease with the option of an additional year. We will be losing 10,000 square feet.

Expeditor Issues at the P-1. Jennifer said it is the Expeditors jobs to pull out the mail to meet the dispatch. Paula said she had numerous concerns as there have been different grievance settlements for both crafts. There was lengthy discussion. Brian Stoll agreed, for the “dispatch”.

Respectfully Submitted

Amy Marcus
Executive Vice President
